About the Search

Provost Steven W. McLaughlin has convened a search committee tasked with selecting the next John P. Imlay, Jr. Dean of Computing.  This search is chaired by Raheem Beyah, Southern Company Dean's Chair in the College of Engineering.

Georgia Tech has retained the services of the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles, working with consultants Jackie Zavitz and Ellen Brown Landers.

This search is open to both external and internal candidates at Georgia Tech. This position reports to the Provost of Georgia Tech.

Heidrick & Struggles hosted of number of events and meetings to seek the feedback of Computing faculty, staff, and students on the preferred qualifications of the next dean. Town hall events were offered in-person and virtual.

Search Committee

Search committee members were chosen via a nomination process and include a mix of faculty, staff, and students from within the College of Computing, as well as colleges and units from across campus that work closely with Computing.

On-Campus Finalist Visits

Four finalists visited campus to engage with faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the College of Computing and leadership of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Each finalist candidate spent two days on campus, and gave a seminar on their vision for the College.  Finalist visits occurred on the following dates, with each candidate giving their seminar at 11:00am on the first date of the visit.  The CoC and Georgia Tech communities were invited to share their feedback on finalists.
