This year, two individuals and two teams were honored by the University System of Georgia for dedication to excellence and service to the campus community and beyond.

ECE Professor Gabriel Alfonso Rincón-Mora has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).

Four Georgia Tech faculty members were named IEEE Fellows, effective January 1, 2018. They are BME Professor Jaydev Desai, ECE Professors Saibal Mukhopadhyay and Justin Romberg, and GTRI Senior Research Engineer Kevin James “Jim” Sangston.

ECE Professor Abdallah Ougazzaden has been named to the National Academy of Metz as an honorary member.

Dr. Toby Wilson-Bates and Dr. Andrew Marzoni have both been chosen as recipients of the 2017 Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award.

ECE Assistant Professor Sam Coogan has received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award for his research project entitled “Correct-By-Design Control of Traffic Flow Networks.”

ECE Assistant Professor Tushar Krishna has been selected for a National Science Foundation (NSF) CISE Research Initiation Initiative Award.

ISyE announced that Coca-Cola Chair in Engineering Statistics and Professor Jeff Wu has been honored with the American Society for Quality’s 2017 Brumbaugh Award.

John D. Cressler, Magnus Egerstedt, and Benjamin Yang have been chosen for the Georgia Tech Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award.

The Rich Steele Award recognizes a Georgia Tech staff member who has demonstrated a commitment to making the university experience a positive one for Georgia Tech students.
