About the Search

Provost Steven W. McLaughlin has convened a search committee charged with selecting the next Dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. This search is chaired by Dean of Libraries Leslie Sharp.

Georgia Tech has retained the services of the executive search firm Russell Reynolds & Associates, working with consultants Joi Hayes-Scott and Jett Pihakis.

The position description can be viewed online.  This search is open to both external and internal candidates at Georgia Tech. This position reports to the Provost of Georgia Tech.

While applications and nominations will be received until the dean is selected, interested parties are encouraged to submit application materials by August 26, 2024.

Community Input

Russell Reynolds hosted several events and meetings to seek the feedback of faculty, staff, and students on the preferred qualifications of the next dean. To maximize engagement during the summer semester, town hall events were held in a virtual format.

Search committee members were chosen via a nomination process and include a mix of faculty, staff, and students from within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, as well as colleges and units from across campus that work closely with Ivan Allen College.
