Carol J. Thurman, Data and Assessment Coordinator, earned her doctorate in Educational Policy Studies with a concentration in Research, Measurement, and Statistics from Georgia State University. Dr. Thurman's professional experience includes program evaluation, teaching internationally and state-side at the high school and middle school level, project management for an educational software corporation, teaching university research and statistics courses, and serving as a school district research specialist.

Dr. Thurman has extensive experience working in higher education, having worked in Georgia State University’s Educational Research Bureau as a Graduate Research Assistant and then in a full-time capacity as a Research Associate. She has been an adjunct professor at Georgia State University, teaching Biostatistics, Research/Questionnaire Design, and Sampling Methods courses. Before joining Georgia Tech, Carol was the Research Associate/Director of Evaluations for Pacific Research & Evaluation where her responsibilities included leading and managing the program evaluation efforts for several large Federal and State grants.

In her free time, Carol enjoys spending time with family and her boxer, Beasley; playing tennis, singing, reading, going to the Atlanta Opera, and enjoying Atlanta’s great restaurants.
