At the Ivan Allen College Awards Luncheon, Jade Charnigo received the Student services award for her commitment to improving our students daily life on campus, encouraging students to identify and reach their true potential, developing innovative solutions to problems that result in significantly more effective and efficient department or university operations and setting an example of leadership, commitment and a strong work ethic. 

Additionally, Public Policy/City and Reg Planning master’s student Paul DeMerritt received Special Recognition for his Distinguished Outstanding Service by a student. Paul DeMerritt, a graduate research assistant in the College Communications office, is an insightful writer who handles news stories and several of the College’s social media platforms. In addition, for the past year and a half, he has worked under Rebecca’s direction on the College History Project, conducting primary research and interviews with faculty and staff. He is synthesizing that research to produce a critical junctures document tracing our trajectory since 1888. This project has been a huge undertaking and Paul’s work has been essential to being able to move this important historical project forward.
